Taking a Stand Against Bullying

No Image

Soap Lake MS/HS concluded a week of anti-bullying education on January 13th. Each advisory spent the entire week discussing bullying and the effect it has on individuals as well as the effect on an entire school. Students were taught the importance of recognizing bullying and intervening to stop it. Intervention can be done by students, staff or administration or a combination of all. Bullyng can have a lifetime of negative effects on victims. In extreme cases, victims can resort to violence as a way of coping. The week concluded with students making posters depicting bullying and how to stop it. Shown in the picture are members of Mr. Chamberlain's sophomore advisory who made t-shirts which read "Help Stop Bullying."

Congratulations to Matt Brewer and Steve Morton, our 2012 Excellence Awards Recipients!! Save the date: 2012 Grant County Excellence Award Banquet will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
