Updated Mask Mandate Information

Hello Soap Lake Families,

Today the Governor announced that the statewide indoor mask requirement for Washington state, including in our K–12 schools, is scheduled to end on March 12, 2022. Once the statewide requirement is lifted, masks can be worn, but they will not be required. Masks will no longer be required on school buses.

Until March 12th, masks will continue to be required for all students, staff, and visitors in the District. Masks will continue to be provided for those who do not have them.

Once the statewide mask requirement lifts, barring a new requirement from our local health department, masks will become optional in our school buildings. Staff and students will have the choice to wear a mask at school, with the expectation that others’ choices will be respected.

We do ask that you remain diligent in monitoring your student’s health and please keep sick children at home.  If your student presents with any symptoms, please keep them home.  You also have the option to bring your student to either school office and we can administer a Covid test with results in 15 minutes.
