6th Grade Transition to Middle/High School

6th Grade Transition to Middle/High School Building

Beginning 2026-2027 School Year

Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, 6th grade will be located in the middle/high school building.

This change is part of ongoing district planning to support student opportunity, facility space needs, and long-term program alignment.

We are committed to making this transition thoughtful, well-structured, and supportive for students and families.

Why Is This Change Is Being Made?

After reviewing enrollment trends, available space, and student programming opportunities, the district determined that housing 6th grade in the middle/high school building will improve opportunities in several areas.

  • Participation
Allow 6th grade students to participate more fully in middle school athletics, ASB, and extracurricular activities
  • Support Services
Provide additional space for student support services
  • Enrollment Growth
Create additional space at the elementary school to accommodate future enrollment growth
