Superintendent

SLSD parents, students, community and staff,

It is my honor and privilege to start my new position as Soap Lake School District Superintendent. I want you to know that I couldn’t be more excited to be here and have the opportunity to work with all of you. I was so anxious to get started and the month of July 2022 flew by.

Since I was hired in May 2022, I have been striving to get to know the community, families and students. To do this, I have been attending City Council Meetings, I held “Meet the Superintendent” meetings and have been participating in various events and discussions about the SLSD and what the stakeholders are so very proud of and what would they like to see updated or improved.

As a small town Eastern Washington resident, I know the importance that the school plays in a small community. Through increased safety measures, a focus on academic rigor in our classrooms, and providing our staff the training that it needs to be successful, we have a goal of improving our WA State test scores and decreasing truancy and behavior issues.

I look forward to working collaboratively with the school board, staff, parents and community to build a strong educational program while forging innovative partnerships to enhance opportunities for students. I’m committed to ensuring that all students have the ability to reach their full potential while becoming productive members of an ever-changing global society. I truly believe that the Soap Lake community and district are poised for unprecedented positive growth, and I am thrilled that I will be able to be an integral part of the process.

As we begin a new school year together we all know that there are challenges that lie ahead. Be assured that with the partnerships with Grant County Health, Soap Lake Police Department, the Soap Lake Guiding Coalition and our partnership with Altera for after school tutoring our students and school system will continue to grow and strive for being the best we can be.

Until then, thank you all for welcoming me aboard. Please look for and read my weekly The Eagle Eye newsletter and remember my door is always open and you have access to me through email [email protected] and by phone on my work cell phone at 509-390-1145.
