Soap Lake School District Awarded Over $17,000 in Grants to Support Student Athletics

Posted Date: 6/18/25 (6:35 PM)

Soap Lake School District is proud to announce the award of two generous grants totaling $17,500 to enhance opportunities for student athletes at Soap Lake Middle/High School.
The Safeway Foundation and the Albertsons Companies Foundation has awarded $10,000 to support student athletes by providing hydration, snacks, and meals during practices and competitions. This funding will ensure that athletes are nourished and supported throughout their sports seasons, reinforcing the district’s commitment to student health and wellness.
In addition, the Paul Lauzier Foundation has awarded $7,500 to fund the purchase of soccer goals and field equipment for the high school soccer program. The 2024–2025 school year marked Soap Lake’s inaugural high school soccer season, and the team’s strong performance and positive student engagement have paved the way for continued development of the program. This grant will allow the district to invest in the essential infrastructure needed to support the team’s growth in years to come.
“These grants are an incredible affirmation of the hard work and potential of our student athletes,” said Superintendent Angela Rolfe. “We are deeply grateful to both the Safeway Foundation and the Paul Lauzier Foundation for investing in the physical well-being, teamwork, and school spirit of our students.”
The Safeway Foundation grant was awarded on June 9, 2025, and will be managed in accordance with grant conditions requiring use solely for public and student-focused purposes. The Paul Lauzier Foundation grant, also awarded on June 9, 2025, will directly support the high school’s athletic facilities.
Soap Lake School District extends its sincere thanks to both organizations for their commitment to education and youth development.
